Title: Introductory Mechatronics

Hours: 16

Credits: 5

Teachers: Alberto Parmiggiani, Nikolaos Tsagarakis, Emanuele Guglielmino, Traveler Hauptman

Course Objectives:

This short course is intended to present graduate students the basic concepts about mechatronics, mechanical components, and production technologies. Given the relatively short duration of the course it will not be possible to cover in details all the topics. Nevertheless the course will provide essential notions regarding the hardware aspects of mechatronic devices. Coherently with the institute’s interdisciplinary approach the course has been tailored to needs of students whose background is different from mechanical engineering.
